Thank you Andrea and Merry Christmas to all!

Hello? I know I've been gone for a long while and I will catch up in a minute, but first I want to thank the very kind and talented Andrea of The Craft Room for this beautiful surprise.
It's from Prairie Schooler Book 36 - St Nicolas II. It is, as usual, beautifully stitched and finished. Thank you so much, Andrea, for your kindness.  As you can see it is hanging on my little Charlie Brown tree on my mantel piece where I can easily admire it every day!  It's right along side another ornament I received as a RAK from Andrea a couple of years ago (see below).

Thank you so much, Andrea! Love 'em!
So, catching up... I have not been stitching. I still love cross stitch but my body does not. It is literally "a pain in the neck".

As I've said in earlier posts, I've taken to sewing like a little happy duck finding a long lost pond! Last month another bug bit me and it was knitting this time. I took a Beginner's Knitting class mid-November and have made three hats and a big scarf, all gifted. Knitting seems to be a very soothing balm to me. My other blog is here.

So, I say, "Go with the Flow!" Cross stitch will return whenever the time is right. In the meantime, I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas!

A river walk and peek at my garden

Hello! Happy First Day of Summer!  Actually we have been having summer weather for well over a  month now so my head is a bit confused! The fantastic weather makes anything and everything beautiful.

Last Sunday morning, we went for an short walk along the river. Come and have a look.

It was such a lovely time of the morning. There were only a few people out, along with some duckies on the water.

In our garden, I've found two surprising lovely ladies blooming in our back lane! These are Hollyhocks and this is the first time I've seen them bloom. They are so gorgeous!
Pholx in pink-purple shades.
I love this photo of the white hydrangeas. You can see how huge this shrub is! Looking at it I feel like I am looking at an orchestra!
In case you are wondering, Daisy is doing just fine, loving napping by the open window.
Comatose Cat!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week my friends!

Summer is Here!

Hello there! I thought I'd just stop by quick to say hi so you don't forget about me!

We are already in the heat of summer and summer has not even officially started!  "The weather is crazy" seems to be a phrase that can be heard from anyone's lips these days, no matter where you live!  A lot of my roses have had their first flush of blooms and are resting up for the next round (I hope).  Here are a couple of roses still blooming.

I have not been stitching at all. I am cheating by showing you an old finished piece. It sits right by my computer and I'm looking at it now. It's "Be Kind and True" by Blackbird Designs. (In case you are wondering, I don't have this chart any longer.)
Further to issues with my neck that gets worse with stitching, I now seem to have a problem with the muscle around the base of my spine, from sitting. Whenever I get up from sitting, it hurts like a bruise. (Has this happened to you?) This just tells me I have another area to figure out exercises for! The dark side of getting older! So I try to do more active things, and despite the heat, I am gardening more.

Here's Julius saying "Hiya!"
Hope all is well with you!
